Monday afternoon's simul by GM Andrey Rychagov was, shall we say,
modestly attended... although that has certainly has nothing to do with GM
Rychagov. Still, a good time was had by all, and even with a
high single-digit turnout, GM Rychagov was nicked for a draw by Ottawa
player Roger LeBrun, who was justifiably proud.
Nonetheless, the question arises: how many people does it take to make
a successful simul?
We're proposing that for the proposed Wednesday afteroon tandem simul
by GM Suat Atalik and his wife IM Ekaterina Atalik, there be a sign-up
sheet near the skittles/analysis room. If we don't get sufficient
takers (15? 20?) at $20 a pop, then we might be better off not to hold
the simul, due to insufficient demand.
